The Nuts and Bolts of Exporting

Peter Tierney - Director of The U.S. Commercial Service - Harlem US Export Assistance Center U.S. Department of Commerce - International Trade Administration presented a webinar on the Nuts and Bolts of Exporting. He talked about the hands-on approach to what it takes to succeed in exporting your company’s product or service. He helped businesses identify the best global markets, how to choose the right overseas partner, leverage the services offered by the Dept. of Commerce, as well as other “Best Practices” of exporting. GNYCC members Learned how to negotiate international sales agreements, including developing ways for a “win-win” for your company and your international partners. 

He also Explored the best practices and resources to help Identify and vet potential export partners. Reviewed the structure of the various types of sales channels: Buyer’s Agents, Export Management Companies, Distributors, Manufacturers Representatives, Foreign Retailers and Sales Agents.
