NYC Mayor’s Office of International Affairs Meets with Greater NY Chamber

On Tuesday, January 28, Greater New York Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Helana Natt and President Mark Jaffe met with Mayor’s Office for International Affairs (MOIA) Commissioner Aissata M.B. Camara, Deputy Commissioner Dilip Chauhan, and Director of Economic Development Sebastian Sharma to discuss ways to enhance services for New York City’s international community.

The Chamber applauds Commissioner Camara’s vision of working with nearly 200 United Nations member countries to help international representatives better understand New York City services and become active, engaged members of our community.

MOIA plays a critical role in advancing New York City’s global leadership and strengthening relationships on the international stage. The office serves as a central entity within New York City government dedicated to enhancing the City’s global presence and fostering meaningful international partnerships.

Key MOIA Initiatives include:

  • Global NYC Initiative: Promotes New York City’s economic interests internationally and supports local businesses seeking to expand into global markets.
  • Cultural Exchanges and Trade Missions: Organizes programs and delegations that showcase New York City’s diversity while fostering international cooperation and mutual understanding.
  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Collaborates with cities around the world to share best practices in sustainability, with a focus on renewable energy, climate resilience, and innovative urban planning.

The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce and MOIA look forward to working together in 2026 to actively promote shared services and initiatives across all five boroughs. These efforts will include forums, workshops, and webinars, as well as expanded access to the Chamber’s international legal services through its Law Center.
