General Society Celebrates Independence Day

July 2013

Vincent McGowan & Mark Jaffe in the General Society Library
Every year, just prior to the July 4th Holiday, The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesman hosts an Independence Day Celebration to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It is an inspiring event held in the library's main reading room, which soars to a height of three stories and is topped by a magnificent skylight. This year’s celebration kicked off on the evening of July 2nd with patriotic music performed live by the Banjo Rascals.
