NEW YORK -- The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce hosted their 20th business fair at the Hilton New York on Sept. 20th. More than 1,000 people attended the Expo and visited over 100 exhibits in the Hilton's beautiful Hall of the Americas. Exhibitors included; Wells Fargo, New York Rx Card, its-your-internet.com; the New York Yankees, Verizon Wireless, Time Warner Cable, T-Mobile, Rapid Realty, Orange Soda and the US Small Business Admisnistration to name a few.The Expo kicked off with a welcome breakfast where US Small Business Administration Regional Administrator Jorge Silva-Puras championed small business. Later; State Senator Liz Krueger Elizabeth Benjamin of the Community Service Society and Francesco Ciccone of NY RX Card, Joel Levy of Benefits Compensation Consultants, Robert Hayes of Universal American and Lou Gordon of BALCONY led an expert panel on the Benefits of the Affordbale Care Act for Small Businesse. At Lunch time; NYC Public Advocate Bill de Blasio praised the Chamber and Mark Jaffe. "The Greater New York Chamber has advanced the quality of living and business environment in New York City by guiding economic development, cultivating alliances with business leaders, government agencies and civic associations, and promoting education for entrepeneurs, with the leadership of President and CEO Mark S. Jaffe," de Blasio wrote in his official NYC Proclamation.
The Luncheon was followed by another expert panel on INVESTING IN BETTER JOBS. The Jobs Panel germinated from Jaffe's participtation on the White House Small Business Council. No doubts its was a big success.
This years Expo marked the 2nd time that the Chamber and the NYC Hispanic Chamber partnered together to celebrate Hispanic History Month.
