Greater NY Chamber Partners with Indonesia

September 2012

Chamber Members listen to Indonesian Consulate General
In the Consulate building of Indonesia on Manhattan's beautiful Upper East Side on Monday Sept. 10, friends and members of the Chamber were treated to an insightful presentation on business opportunity in the growing nation of Indonesia.

The southeast Asian country has a steadily growing population of 240 million – fourth worldwide behind the U.S. – and is ripe for investment. Indonesia has established free market practices, democratic norms, and sound rule of law. It has rising income across the board – and will become a global economic titan in years, not decades.

Chamber President Mark Jaffe was honored to introduce Ghafur A. Dharmaputra, Indonesia’s Consulate General in New York, for his remarks.

“Mr. Dharmaputra is a friend of New York, and a welcome partner for the Chamber,” Jaffe said. “I look forward to working with him in the years ahead to strengthen the bond between this city and his great and prosperous country.”
