Small Business Resource Fair To Be Held At Madison Square Garden

January 2007

On 1/26/06, at Madison Square Garden, the Chamber will kick off its sixth year of hosting Small Business Resource Fairs in the Greater NY Area. This year’s theme is "Small Business Champions".

The Fair represents a coalition of various city, state and federal agencies as well as local chambers of commerce and corporations that come together to help small businesses and entrepreneurs to grow, improve their services and create jobs. The last Fair had over 80 vendors on hand and many expert panels to help the hundreds of small businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals that come each year to collect helpful information, attend free seminars, network and learn how to handle everyday small business challenges.

The Fair traditionally starts with a VIP Breakfast. Former keynote addresses and salutations have been provided by US Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, ESDC Chair Charles Gargano, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, NYC Comptroller William Thompson and Borough President Virginia Fields.

This year expert panels will include; "Finance, Loans and Credit", "Affordable Health Care" and "Planning a Successful Retirement."

As in previous years, we will continue to honor one of the many local chambers of commerce. Past honorees have included the Carribean American Chamber of Commerce, the NYS Federation of Hispanic Chambers, the Manhattan Chamber, the Westchester Hispanic Chamber and the Hunts Point Chamber in the Bronx.

The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce is proud to promote business services to the 7000 plus business and civic leaders support what Mayor Bloomberg considers the “backbone of our thriving economy.” Again, we thank all our dues paying members & supporters for making events like this possible.
