National Small Business Week: Collaborative Efforts with Government Agencies to Support Entrepreneurs

The Greater New York Chamber celebrates National Small Business Week. Today's very informative webinar with various government agencies supports the backbone of the economy: small businesses.

Joining forces with agencies like the SBA, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Minority/Women Business Enterprise Division of the Department of Labor (M/WBE DOL), the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance) today empowers entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.

The IRS offers workshops and seminars focusing on tax-related topics tailored to small business owners. From understanding tax obligations to maximizing deductions, these sessions provide invaluable insights to help entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of the tax system.

The M/WBE DOL plays a crucial role in supporting minority and women-owned businesses, offering resources and programs aimed at fostering diversity and inclusion in the business community. The USDOT showcases opportunities for small businesses in the transportation sector, highlighting contracting opportunities, certification programs, and resources available to entrepreneurs looking to enter or expand their presence in this industry.

Last but not least, the NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance offers guidance and support to small businesses in New York State, providing information on tax compliance, incentives, and credits available to entrepreneurs operating in the region.

Overall, National Small Business Week serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts of government agencies in supporting and empowering small business owners across the country. By joining forces with these business-friendly agencies, these entities demonstrate their commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, driving economic prosperity, and building vibrant communities.
