The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Black History Month awards breakfast on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. This year's honorees were Congressman Charles Rangel, 1010 WINS news anchor Larry Mullins, 100 Black Men NYC President Michael Garner, former NYC Veterans Affairs Commissioner Terrance Holliday and Black Shopping Channel CEO Cleveland Gary. The event hosts; Chamber CEO Mark Jaffe & Bd Member George Hulse of Healthfirst introduced Mr Rangel who spoke about how quickly people forget where they used to be. Other VIP's and sponsors included NYC's first African American Mayor David Dinkins, SBA regional director Beth Goldberg, New York RX Card, the Black Shopping Channel, 1010 WINS, Amtrust Financial, Aetna & Healtfirst. US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand acknowledged all the sponsors & honorees and Mayor de Blasio proclaimed Feb 10th "Greater NY Chamber Black History Day" in NYC.
